This TWO WORKSHOP SERIES (2.8.2018 ‘Effective Family Partnership’ & 3.2.2018 ‘Engaging Diverse Families in Decision Making’) is designed for professionals who serve and work directly with linguistically and culturally diverse families who have children with autism and other developmental/intellectual disabilities.

In these two interactive workshops, participants will engage in discussions and learning on the following topics:
- Diverse family’s cultural perspectives on disabilities and experiences of raising children with special health care needs.
- Cross-cultural communication patterns (both verbal and nonverbal) and cultural factors that impact different decision making styles
- Strategies to support & engage diverse families in navigating systems and partner with them in decision making
