Open Doors for Multicultural Families is a nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to ensuring that families who have family members with developmental disabilities and special health care needs have equal access to culturally and linguistically appropriate information, resources and services. We promote culturally competent services through community collaboration, training, and partnerships. We are passionate parents who have children with developmental disabilities, professionals who care about people with disabilities and valued community volunteers. We founded this organization in June 2009 after more than a decade’s collaboration on projects specifically designed for serving and supporting multicultural families with family members with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.
